WORLD Food photography shoot – 19/01/21
On January 19, 2021 by Sophie MartynFor my world food photography, I took a photo of different spices on a spoon. I took the photos from different angles. I wanted to take photos of spices because the spices have loads of different textures. I arranged them so that the spoon heads were next to each other. One of my favorite ones is the one that is taken from the front with a low angle. I am happy with the way it turned out. I want to experiment with editing them to make them a bit darker and moodier. I like moody food photography. Taking photos of spices also links back to the project title of diversity.
I am happy with the way they turned out. I changed exposer to be lower on all the photos and enhanced the clarity and then also lowered the temperature to enhance the orange tone.
I took this photo by creating a box with 4 pieces of card with an LED light on either side of the box to create the most light. I wanted to make sure that the photo was well lit so I was able to edit it without one side of the photo being darker. I like the way it turned out because I like moody food photos and I achieved that look.
Some of the other photos I took:
I took these photos more in the moment rather than having it staged. the first two I took before eating them because they were from different contries in the world. I decided to take a photo of an iced coffee in a gin glass because of I photo I saw on Pinterest. I didn’t get the artist but I saw a similar one done by Francesco Tonelli of him pouring alcohol into an alcohol glass.
I didn’t edit these photos because I wanted to make sure that weren’t over edited and I was happy with everything in the photos. The only thing I wish I did was had a black background in the middle picture.
