Joel Pares – 6/01/2021

Joel Parés is an award-winning, internationally-recognized, published photographer and digital artist based in Dallas, TX. The message I think that Joel is trying to illustrate is that common prejudices and stereotypes of different ethnicities are wrong, and that people shouldn’t judge people based on the colour of their skin or their religious beliefs. By comparing reality with the prejudiced view, he highlights the difference between racist or prejudiced viewpoints and reality. I like the way that he has laid out the photos to make sure that they contacted each other well, he uses the same background but uses more light in the background when illustrating their real jobs. I like the way he has done this so it shows how dark the prejudices and stereotypes can be and then the other shows how they have jobs with could save lives.
